Leaving Jackson, Wyoming

This was the last full day of our tour. We drove from Jackson, past one of the antler arches, to Salt Lake City, stopping in Afton and Evanston, Wyoming, and at the Olympic Park in Park City, Utah.

Leaving Jackson, Wyoming

On the Road

We drove hundreds of miles past snow–covered hills, mountains, and plains. Our route took us through Wyoming, with the road going into Idaho for a bit, back into Wyoming, then into Utah, back into Wyoming, then back into Utah.

Afton, Wyoming

We had a rest stop in Afton, where Rulon Gardener grew up on a dairy farm. He won the gold medal in Greco–Roman wrestling, defeating Russian Aleksandr Karelin, who had been undefeated for 13 years. Many photos of Gardener were in the Gardener’s Country Village Store.

The Utah Olympic Park

We stopped at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City to take a tour. It was a competition venue for the 2000 Olympic Winter Games for Nordic jumping and bobsled, luge, and skeleton. Today, it is a U.S. Olympic training and competition site.

Park City, Utah

A view of Park City, Utah. From Park City, we drove about 32 miles to our hotel in Salt Lake City. An end–of–tour dinner was held at Christopher’s, a very nice restaurant. The next day, I flew home to Los Angles and WARM WEATHER! It was a good, fun trip and a great winter experience. Thanks Ted and Steve.

I have put my photos of Day 5 on a slideshow. Go to
