Houses in the Jumeirah section of Dubai. Very, very nice. Foreigners cannot own property in the UAE but many foreigners rent from their owners in this area.

Houses are usually big as three generations might live in them. Usually a couple lives with the husband's family when first married before building a home. The lot for their first house in given to them free by the government. That is the UAE flag drapped over the houses. National Day, Dec. 2, is coming up.

Next stop, the Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world.

We came here to go up to the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. You enter the Burj Khalifa through the mall.

The Burj Khalifa. Interestingly, the Chinese are now constructing a building that will be taller than the Burj Khalifa. Mounir said that Dubai is going to build a new one taller than the Chinese one.

I had lunch at Morelli's There are so many cafes to choose from that you could eat your way through the mall.
