The Ring of Kerry is an 111-mile (179-km) circular route from Killarney, around the Iveragh Peninsula to Killorglin, and passing through such towns as Waterville and Sneem. Some of it is through countryside and mountains and some of it at water's edge.

Close by to Charlie Chaplin is the Mick O'Dwyer statue. O'Dwyer was a football (soccer) manager and former player. He managed the Kerry senior team between 1974 and 1989 and is regarded as the greatest manager in the history of the game.

This vendor was selling honey and also Irish moonshine. Barbara. our tour director, bought some and we had a sample of it. It was the strongest-by-far alcoholic drink that I have ever drunk.

The problem on the mountain roads we were on is when two buses meet or sometimes the road becomes too narrow for a car and a bus to pass, so one has to back up. A bit scary on some of the turns on the road.
