The Mestrovic Pavilion, 1938, where cultural events are held. Before World War I, it was an art gallery, then later a mosque, then the Museum of the Revolution, and now back to the Croatian Assoication of Artists.
Our bus let us off in the Upper Town, the Gornji Grad.

The beautiful St. Mark's Church. It started out as a parish church, built as early as the 13th century. It was reconstructed in the latter half of the 14th century into a Gothic church, Catholic.

These tiles respresent the coat of arms of Zagreb.
These represent the Kingdom of Croatia, Slavonia, and Dalmatia.

On St. Mark's Square, to the left, is the Banski dvori, a Croatian government building.
To the right is the Croatian Parliament building.
Off the square is the Old City Hall made up of three buildings. The City Assembly meets here.

A commemorative plaque of Nichola Tesla. He proposed to the city council in 1892 to build an alterating current power station powered by a hydroelectric plant at Plitvice Lakes to power electric street lights. The city counsel voted down the idea.

Farther on, the Museum of Broken Relationships, which is a crowd-source project with only two world outposts--the original one here and the second one on Hollywood Boulevard in the Hollywood part of Los Angeles.
The museums are dedicated to failed love relationships. They have traveling exhibits. I have now walked past the only two Museums of Broken Relationships in the world--the one here and the one on Hollywood Boulevard--without visiting either. Next time, I will visit one of them.
At a city overlook in the Upper Town. A vendor.

The Strossmarte next to the funicular entrance/exit.
The Strossmarte is an entertainment area complete with much folk art.

Entrance/exit to the funicular that will take you from the Lower Town to the Upper Town and vice versa. At 196.85 feet (66 m), it is the shortest cable car in the world. This slideshow continues on "Zagreb-2."
